Stand Up For Seaton (SU4S)

Community Action for Seaton's Regeneration Area, 80% owned by Tesco - a floodplain on a World Heritage site bordered by nature reserves, tidal river, the sea and the unspoilt town. SU4S is a state of mind - no members, no structure, no politics. SU4S has objected to 2 planning applications by Tesco, including one for a massive superstore/dot com distribution centre which led to the recent closure on the site of 400 tourist beds with the loss of 150 jobs,a gym and pool - all used by locals.

Tesco buys Woolworths Store in Lyme Regis

The Woolworths store in Lyme Regis (near the Co-op) has been bought by Tesco. It will close in a few days and re-open as a Tesco. This will make a total of 13 Tesco stores within 25 miles of Seaton.

Nearest Sainsbury's is Exeter, nearest Morrison's is Bridport, nearest Asda store is Taunton.

The Red Cross in Lyme Regis got money from Tesco for first aid courses. The Carnival committee in Seaton got money from Tesco for whatever it was they used it for.

Beware strangers bearing gifts!

Tesco shot children in Lyme recently too. Photos for modelling their kids clothes range so I guess lots of starstruck mothers went in with kids and Tesco bags hoping to impress. Wonder if they regret how much they impressed now.

Why can't we have a Tesco Express in Beer, Colyton, Colyford and Musbury. Why should we have to travel more than a mile just to get to Tesco? Humph.

Yeah, I agree, Mariners Hall would be really nice for Beer. The Feoffees Hall in Colyton. The Village Hall, Colyford, and say the post office, Musbury.

There you go, course, I missed out...
Let's shut Colyton Grammar and its sports hall and put in a really big Tesco, with no replacement amenitities...oh no, that's Seaton's fate isn't it??

Come on East Devon, how many Tescos does it take to fill a county???
