Stand Up For Seaton (SU4S)

Community Action for Seaton's Regeneration Area, 80% owned by Tesco - a floodplain on a World Heritage site bordered by nature reserves, tidal river, the sea and the unspoilt town. SU4S is a state of mind - no members, no structure, no politics. SU4S has objected to 2 planning applications by Tesco, including one for a massive superstore/dot com distribution centre which led to the recent closure on the site of 400 tourist beds with the loss of 150 jobs,a gym and pool - all used by locals.

So where's my leaflet Tesco?

Tesco promised to send their regeneration leaflet to every home in Seaton? Have you received yours? And where's the result of the survey they did of the 1000 plus people who went to their exhibition. I think we should be told! (But I want to see ALL the reply cards for myself too).

along with insufficiently advertising their so-called "public consultation" and holding it in a venue too small for a sizeable crowd (why? didn't they want us to see it?)and don't even get me started on the "fairy" brochure...
Once upon a time, in a little seaside town Tesco came and kissed everything better...
(I do think we could develop this, just for fun!)
anyway. The brochure was to be sent to every house in the land, sorry town, but hasn't. yet.

I asked about 10 people in the Town hall today whether they had received their Tesco leaflet, and all said no. I have not yet spoken to anyone who has got one.
Perhaps Tesco are so unnerved by all the negative comments that they don't want to invite any more. Despite their promises of consultation!
